So far so good!
It’s been one year since Analyzing Good Businesses was started. Since the last update from the end of 2020, AGB has grown from over 700 free subs to over 2k now. I like that growth rate!
Here are some raw stats:
Issues published: 26
Emails sent: 22,000+
Total views: 65,000+
Total subs: 2,000+
Average open rate: 52% (excluding issue #1, which was just me)
Most read issue: Veeva Systems (at over 5k)
Least read issue: Bright Horizons (at over 750)
Goals for AGB
The main goal hasn’t changed. I’ll continue to publish an analysis of a good business every two weeks, except for a week off in July and a week in December. That means 25 issues per year.
However, there are new things I’d like to experiment with this year. Here are some ideas:
Go live with a portfolio reflecting what’s published in AGB, easily followed on a brokerage platform that does this kind of stuff (like Public). Are there other good platforms for this? Would people even enjoy or get value out of this?
Write updates to issues after a certain period of time as passed (perhaps two years+). The main takeaway would be to figure out if these businesses continued to perform the way that they had been at the time of writing.
Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated!
Schedule
I’m going to take a week off in July, so the next issue will be published on July 19th. For the remainder of the year, I’ll stick to the one analysis every 2 week schedule with each issue published on Mondays, 1pm ET.
If you received some value from reading any of the analyses on AGB, please share with someone that would find it valuable. Thank you for your support!
Good job man! Congrats on 2K+
Not sure if it is relevant, but I follow your blog from RSS, so maybe you should add these followers as subscribers :). Keep the good work!
